Oki C5100 And Its Various Features
This laser printer, the Oki C5100, is a very nice printer for what you spend for it. The only drawback to it is that the printer is somewhat large, and if you decide to purchase it, it will take up a lot of your desk area. There are many features available on the Oki C5100. First, its single-pass engine design can print over twelve color pages per minute and up to twenty black and white pages per minute. This makes it one of the fastest printers within its price range. The Oki C5100 also has a 250-page feeder, and an auto-duplex unit is also available separately. A network-ready 10/100 Ethernet port and USB 2.0 connectivity round off the features.
The printer has four seperate toner cartridges, one black, one magenta, one cyan, and one yellow. It's a great answer, in case you run out of - let's say - cyan, you have no need to change the full color toner, but you can easily replace cyan. But the Oki toner will print less pages than a normal toner, and a full replacement set costs $150, more or less in case of a generic brand toner.
If you choose to buy an official solid ink, you'll see that they are much more expensive. Some web sites had a set of four toners going for nearly four hundred dollars! The generic brands give you much more bang for your buck because they perform the exact same thing at a lower cost.
Okidata 5300 is another printer done by the same company. The printer has double the amount of RAM in comparison to Oki C5100 and twice its processor speed. But the printer speed is equal; the Oki 5300's ink prints twelve color pages per minute and 20 black and white pages a minute.
