The Dangers of Spyware
My friend is an angler, at least that's what he daydreams about, on a routine day he tunes up PCs and performs an excellent job and has earned a fine reputation. When I have a PC dilemma, my friend is the one I reach for and no matter how difficult or intricate the problem, give him some leeway and he'll find a resolution. He told me something troubling the other night, it seems that the majority of the computers he services have spyware or adware on their hard drives, and most people are ignorant of it; calling him when their systems grind to a halt.
The Internet is similar to a living, breathing creature forever evolving, and not always in a supportive road, though it definitely has allowed me my career of choice. As the days flow and technology advances, so also does spyware & adware. It is important in today's environment to have Spyware Removal software on your PC and to use it often; crucial is regularly updating the software, because what may have worked previoulsy could overlook a virus or adwarecoded since the previous scan.
As a test for this article (using a separate and clean system) I ran a test, uninstalling my spyware removal software then visiting several traffic trade sites. These surfing exchanges are perfect for new webmasters, allowing them the method to send traffic to their own websites, accomplished by their at different sites. The flow is like this:
A person visits a particular site and receives credits for looking at the site You assign these credits to a particular URL. when other people surf, your site or offer will be displayed. The system is designed so everyone gets a look at someone elses site.
In theory this is a beautiful plan, however a few (not all) of these sites are either run by or used by people of ill intent. Their scheme not to merely show an offer or website, but to lead you to install spyware on your system. And with today's technology some of this malware is intelligient enough to start the download of spyware/adware onto your system, simply by looking at their innocent looking site. I'm not knocking these sites or discouraging their use, I am recommending watchfulness and stating you be convinced your system is defended.
If you're reading this, statistics say you may already have or will assuredly be infected by spyware or adware. If you have the belief, I don't visit those kinds of sites and I definetely wouldn't download illegal titles, then pat yourself on the back, but you are VERY MUCH still at risk. Take the safeguard and defend your system. Take heed of the old expression...
'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'
You must be the one to take the protective measures. There is a lot of your data, either from your job or privacy concerns; think of waking up to find all your data vanished. Frightening, utterly... Could it happen?... Yes. Stoppable? Yes by using the right syware/adware removal programs.
Now that I have your attention, maybe you're thinking what exactly will spyware and adware do to my system. Good, glad to see you're thinking. In most cases spyware and adware are not are not created to ruin your system, rather to report your surfing habits. Mostly they collect data then report your activity to a website; they can trigger pop-ups and probably will clog your PC, slow your motherboard and reduce your connection to the Internet. It's not so much the damage done, but the fact that your life, your privacy, your system has been breached and these people (whomever they are) have no right to be there.
Thankfully there are smart men and women that feel exactly the same way that I do; these programmers intend to not take this lying down. I don't know how to write programs, I'm a writer, and I write this article to offer fair warning and advise you to take action and look after your home computer. I am grateful to those guys and gals with the skill and heart to code and distribute these top drawer spyware/adware removal tools.
When you decide on which spyware/malware removal tools to use, I'd suggest frequent scans of your home computer. When the automatic features of the program are used, most of the grunt work is done on autopilot, and almost certainly while you're away from your system.
